"I've sat with colleague after colleague who trained brilliantly, worked unbelievably hard to get here, and still felt like an outsider in their own profession — not because of their dentistry, but because nobody ever explained the rest. The notes. The complaints. The small talk. The practice that turned out to be the wrong one. This programme is the conversation I wish someone had had with each of them."

Dr Tayyib Ali, BDS (Hons)

I graduated with Honours from the University of Birmingham and have practised across NHS and mixed practices in the UK — from high-needs communities to affluent areas — alongside completing the year-long implant programme with the British Academy of Implant and Restorative Dentistry, where I finished top of my cohort.

Born, raised and educated here, I know how UK dentistry works from the inside — and having watched talented overseas-qualified colleagues navigate a system that was never explained to them, I built this programme to bridge that gap properly.

If any of this feels familiar

You're not imagining it. It's really this hard.

You spent years and thousands of pounds getting registered. Then UK practice began — and the rules nobody wrote down started to matter more than the ones you studied for.

The quiet anxiety of starting

Feeling judged, underestimated, or one mistake away from trouble — before you've even picked up a handpiece. Most people never say it out loud.

Notes that have to defend you

UK records are a different world. One complaint, years later, can come down to what you did — or didn't — write.

Complaints and cover you don't fully understand

What actually happens when a patient complains, and what your indemnity does and doesn't do — explained clearly, before you ever need it.

The culture nobody hands you a manual for

Small talk, indirectness, team dynamics, being "the foreign dentist" — the invisible rules everyone else seems to already know.

Practices and contracts that feel like a gamble

How to recognise a principal who'll support you, and how to read a contract with confidence instead of hoping for the best.

The curriculum

Seven modules. Everything they never taught you.

Live, small and practical — scripts, templates and real conversation, not lectures at a screen.

Orientation

How UK dentistry actually works

The regulators, the NHS system, UDAs, and a week-one checklist for any practice you walk into.

Records

Bulletproof notes

The complete note template, the consent conversation, and the gaps that quietly sink dentists.

Communication

Patient trust & ethical selling

Winning trust as the new dentist, and presenting options honestly — without pressure, without fear.

Clinical expectations

What UK practice expects of you

Prevention culture, recalls, radiograph habits — the guidance your practice will quietly measure you against.

Protection

When things go wrong

Indemnity explained clearly, the first 48 hours of a complaint, and handling friction with your team.

Career

The right job, the right contract

Spotting a supportive practice, the red flags to walk away from, and the contract clauses that matter.

Belonging

Culture and confidence

The unwritten rules of British working life, decoded — and your own personal 90-day plan.

Questions

Frequently asked

Who is this for?
Overseas-qualified dentists at any stage of the journey — preparing for the ORE or LDS, newly registered, or starting your first UK role — including those currently working as nurses, hygienists or therapists while they wait.
Is this an ORE exam course?
No — and that's rather the point. Plenty of courses will get you through the exam. This is everything that comes after it: the part nobody else is teaching.
When does it start?
The founding group's full schedule — start date and weekly evening — is confirmed with members before we begin, so it fits around real shifts.
What if it's not right for me?
If the programme isn't right for you after the first session, you'll receive a full refund. No questions, no awkwardness.
What if I miss a session?
Every session is recorded and shared with the group, and the WhatsApp chat means you can always ask what you missed. You won't be left behind.
Why is the founding price lower?
This is the first intake, and in return for joining early I ask for your honest feedback — and, if you find it valuable, a few words about your experience. The price won't be repeated for future groups.
Is any of this legal or clinical advice?
No. It's education, drawn from published UK guidance and professional experience. For any live case, complaint or contract, you'll always be directed to your indemnifier, the BDA, or the right professional adviser.
